I read on the Hondata site that I can set my rev limiter by pushing buttons and depressing brake pedal. Anyone here have done this procedure? I'm running a non-obd PR3 w/ stage 2 Hondata and no rev limiter. I've revved as high as 9K at times and I'm afraid I may float my valves and do some serious damage if I'm not careful. Please direct your comments on my question (how to) and not on revving my motor. Thanx in advance.
turn the ignition with your foot off the brake (but don't turn on the car).
hit the button once, the check engine light will flash. hit the button until it flashes 5 times (I believe you hit the button 5 times total). That's rev limiter mode..hit the brake pedal. now, press the button for the thousand RPMs (you want 8000 rpms, you hit the button 8 times, you want 7000 rpms, hit it 7 times.). The check engine light will let you know what you are doing. When you got it where you want it, hit the brake pedal, then select the hundred RPMs. Ex, you want 7900 rpms, you would first push the button 7 times (for the 7000), hit the brake pedal, then push the button 9 times, and hit the brake pedal again.
then turn the ignition off, turn it back on, wait for about 10 seconds, and its on.

Thanks...I saw that on the demo disc that came with my Hondata...Anyway, I emailed the place that sold me this unit because I cannot find that red button anywhere...He may have failed to install it.
oh I see, it should've come with the kit. It plugs into the blue hondata box. You'd have to get a replacement for that switch for sure..
