universal muffler is just a muffler that you weld to your stock, or custom made exhaust piping. the non universal youre reffering to is probably the cat back system, that replaces the whole exhaust system after the catalytic converter.

go catback. you'll be happy with it. the universal one has a bigger canister than the catback system so it will look funny. and you have to get it installed by a muffler shop

that is called the axle back. where you should be able to bolt right up to the rear section of your stock B-pipe

How much does the axle back run for fair price used ?

that is incorrect, the universal canister is smaller than the catback canister.

nothing, except most people run w/o a resonator and it sounds like a fart can.

You have over 3000 posts and you don't know the answer?

YOU POST *****!!!

Universal is smaller and just a muffler.

The other is a catback and has a huge tip.

I think the universal is also availbable in different colors...

Actually, it just depends. Some of the catbacks come with the smaller muffler and some come with the bigger, it just depends on the application. Also, as for the universal it comes in differents sizes as well.

-get the N1 catback, I have it on my 00si and I like it. I have a DC sports cat-back on my 91 crx, and I think it is too quiet. Get the N1 cat-back

the n1 catback exhaust is great. it sounds nice and i noticed some gains on my 00 si. the universal canister is smaller and i dont believe they sell a universal turbo canister. the only problem i had was that the piping comes really close to the gas tank. i have heard about people with problems concerning the piping hitting the gas tank and making noises. the exhaust actually looks better on hatchbacks. they tilt more at an angle. the only problem with that is that the piping goes under the control arms in the rear and it tends to scrap alot if your car is dropped to much. go with the cat back.

WRONG. For one, I owned the A'PEXi N1 Turbo universal muffler. Secondly, is it that hard to visit the manufacturer's homepage? http://apexi-usa.com/exhausts_...s.asp

156-A003 N1 Universal Turbo 80mm inlet (Canister & 115mm Tip)
156-A008 N1 Universal NA 60mm inlet (Canister & 90mm Tip)

apparently the turbo is bigger

Correct. For the universal Apexi mufflers, they make a slim design (N/A) and a huge design (FI).
