Default Cleaning a disassembled head?

I've got the head off of my Integra to swap valvesprings and it's very oily. Is it safe to clean it with Simply Green and water or do I have to hot tank it?

If you are going to hot tank the head you must first dissassemble it completely by taking the valves out and all the oil galley plugs as well. Another method would be to spray it with carb cleaner which you can do if you dont want to remove the valves. Just dont spray the carb cleaner in the ports with the valves in. Instead, spray the carb cleaner on a rag and run the ports if you need to hit them as well. You can spray the combustion chamber and inside of the head with carb cleaner and then spray it out with air.
