I got my rings gapped and the guy who gapped them said that when he put them in the bore WITHOUT FILING them it was 0.015 which is out of endyn's specs for 81mm bore... what should i do?

i would just buy new ones personally they should be around .012...015 is a little big just buy new rings there cheap enough i got mine from larry for like 75 bucks tell him what pistons your running and compression and how much youplan on pushing them

if your positive that the rings are out of spec even before you file fit them, then why not just call larry and send it back, shipping them should only be like 7 bucks or send it c.o.d for 7 bucks and get your shipping money back, and get the right ones. i went threw 2 sets of je rings from race eng. before i got the right ones.

 

hmm... must have been packed in the wrong box because it says 81mm ring set on the box... and the guy who did my honing couldnt possibly have taken that much material off with a hone because 0.011 and 0.012 spec is for 81.5mm and 87mm is the spec for 0.015 after filing .... does anybody know larry's phone ##... i forgot endyn's site address

Did the rings go in square with the bore?

If they're crooked, the gap will appear to be large.
