quick question on suspension compatablity
I just bought a 94 ls teg and was wandering if my AGXs from my 99ex civic would fit the 94 teg? I am thinking no, but everything looks rather similar and I just want to be sure. They are different part numbers from what i have found. Can someone confirm this for me? TIA
Yes and no : )
The fronts will bolt up with no problems
The rears will need some modification to bolt up ....
The lower "shackle" on the shock that attaches the shock to the rear LCA bolts thru the LCA bushing ...
0n 94-00 Tegs and 92-95 Civics the rear lower bushing is larger (wider) than on the 96+ civics so the EK civic rear shock "shackle" is too small to fit arround the EG/DC lower bushing ..... BUT if you are carefull you can shave the bushing with a grinder making it narrower to fit the smaller rear EK shock.
I hope that made sense
I have done this and it works ok ... you may be able to press in a EK rear lower shock bushing into the TEG LCA ... BUT I do not know for sure if the diameter of the EG and EK are the same.
Cheers

thanks for the great info. I ran these shocks on GCs for around a year and a half. The car was really low for a while and then was raised decently for about 6months. The shocks seem fine. So I am thinking I might try to run the fronts again and buy new rear shocks (mechanical knowledge and skill of grinding and making things work is iffy at best) I am going to run with a prokit this time. So I can keep my tires in decent condition. I think the GCs for the civic will not work so well on the 4dr teg. Any opinions are welcome.

I don't believe they are, I had done a quick look comparison of them on my EK and it looked different enough that I didn't try to make one fit.
I did however go out and buy a urethane bushing kit for the rear shock bushing. A friend did the grinding, but it definitely seemed easier to deal with shaving the urethane bushing than when I tried it on the OEM ones. (For one, it is not still attached to the arm, and the metal sleeve in the center can be cut seperately.)

Yeah, you can "make" it fit.
