msd
ok..stupid msd problem... i get power to my msd 6L but then there isn't any power to my to my blaster coil and my spark plugs... uhmm.. checked all the wires and its all connected.. ground is connected as well. My car won't start... it cranks over but just that there isnt any spark... the rotor in the dis. cap has also been replace but still dont start. Does anyone have the same stupid problem with this msd ****... it starts when it it wants to and dies when it wants too....god damm.
I am assuming that you have the MSD cap also. I think the wire that is going into the cap is shorting out on something inside the cap. Be careful when you run that wire, there is a tendancy for it to short out on the internals. I hope you have your dust cap on in the distributer cos that will help. Anotther thing, try shrink wrapping the wire that is inside of the cap that might help too, that's what i did just last week cos the wire inside the cap had been stripped by the rotor.
Yea, I have msd dis. cap, msd 6L, msd blaster coil 3, and msd 8.5mm wires running on zex turbo/nos plugs... I use a test light and there is power going to the 6L, but i can't test the 2 wires going to the blaster coil from the 6L with a test light...i think i need a volt meter... someone said my blaster coil might be low or dead... I also have a spark tester and it has no spark from the coil to the dis cap. 1 of the 2 wires that connect to the dis cap has power to it when i turn the key to the 3rd position. The wires inside the cap isn't touching the rotor cause they have been cut short and used butt clamps. I'm just **** cause i could start it and drive it and then it would die at a gas station for 30mins and start back up like nothing happend. just kinda wanna rip this **** out and put back my stock coil in if i can find it........uhmm anyone have a stock coil...i've lost mines.. how much they cost new.....
The wiring on my MSD SCI, I only have one wire going to the distributer cap and 2 wires going to the external coil. From what understand the wiring is the same. I would check the wiring again and make sure nothing is shorting out cos it sounds exactly what happened to my car and the wire insire th cap was shorting out on the rotor. Just as a precaution go get some heat shrink and wrap the wire that is inside the cap and see if that solves your problem.
