Default pilot tool need help

im having problems with my clutch alignment tool, the tool that ACT gave me with the kit doesnt fit the pilot bearing in the fly wheel so i cant align it. my tranny is an 88 zc tranny which means it has 21 splines the pilot bearing diameter is roughly 9/16 of an inch ( what ever that is in metric system is the answer to the diameter of the pilot bearing) so if any one had this same problem before or knows which alignment toll to use please let me know asap thanx

find the 1/4 in socket that fits the hole perfectly. put on the extension, and use a 3/8 socket that fits the outer hole.

I've always used a socket as well. A Mastercraft (Canadian Tire brand) 10mm deep 1/4" drive socket fits the pilot bearing perfectly. I then take electrical tape (any kind of tape will work) and wrap one end of the socket until it fits the center of the clutch disc snug. This is my pilot tool. Don't make the tape too tight in the clutch disc, or you'll have a hell of a time getting the thing out once the pressure plate is tightened down.

I've done this about 20 times, and have always been able to get the socket out when all is said and done. I have struggled for 5-10 minutes trying to get it out on a few occasions, but it has always come out. You'd think by now, that I would have bought the proper tool!
