please dont get mad, i searched the forums under "clutch" and nothing useful came up. So here is my question, did my clutch break or something? I have a 93 delsol si, i was driving on the freeway, downshifted from 5th to 4th on a transition, then once i let go of the clutch, i hear a loud noise (mixture of a pop and a crack) so i pulled to the side of the freeway and shifted it into neutral and stopped my car. Then i tried to shift it into anygear, the shifter would get jammed and i was not able to shift it into anything. After using both my hands and pushing with all of my weight, i was finally able to shift it into 3rd gear. Could anybody tell me what happend? and would i need to get a new clutch?

Are you still on the side of the freeway?

Check your resivour and make sure you have fluid
in there. Not transmition fluid, but the clutch fluid. Its
the small resivour next to the master cylinder.

 

yea my buddy just ran out of clutch fluid and his problem sounds similar to yours, check that i guess..

 

is the resivoir on the upper right side of the engine bay in a white bottle with a gray cap? cuz if that's it, yes, it is full.

 

can you get into any gear while the car is off?

If not it could be that ur flywheel bolts backed out of the flywheel.

 

the thing is, no matter how hard i push, i cannot get into 1st or 2nd gear (i guess that means i need to start working out ) so my only alternative is to start in 3rd gear. but once i get going, it is still extremely hard to get into 4th or 5th gear.

 

sorry i read that wrong, when when the engine is off, i can shift freely.
