Icon2 Clutch going out on me???

How do I know when my clutch, or clutch components, are going out on me? My car is 10yrs old and the clutch pedal goes all the way down even after I've adjusted it a couple of times to reduce lag. Even though, it still feels really loose and personally, I dont like it . Also sometimes its kinda' hard to shift from N to 1st or other gears when driving. I dont know if the clutch is the OEM one, or the previous owner replaced it or if he did anything with the car at all whatsoever.
Maybe its my slave cylinder or master cylinder? How can I check if either of those 2 are bad or what signs should I look 4?

This^ is a possibility but first check for fluid leaks and bleed the hydraulic system.

If you don't have money for a clutch or clutch parts at the moment, you can shift without the clutch to prolong it's lifespan.

1st gear > accelerate > pop into neutral > let revs fall to 2nd gear revs > pop into second gear when revs hit proper point.

Just a tip
