Being told to upgrade my td04-15g, any thoughts for only boosting 10psi.
Please, if anyone has had expeirence upgrading from thr greddy kit please inform. My buddy is telling me I need a bigger turbo but I love the low spool of the 15g. I am happy, but have yet to put on vtec. He is saying that it will die out at 10psi when vtec hits. Any thoughts? I had the understanding that the td04-15g was good up to 13 psi, so what should vtec do? I need some help. Thanks
Well, I guess I am going to be getting a t3 w/a 60 compressor and .48 exhaust. I am now pondering wether to go internal or external wastegate. If I save money and go with an internal, I can build a FMIC. I am assuming I will get more from the intercooler then by going external correct? What is a good manifold for around $300? My friend got a SS tubular for $270 off ebay but I am afriad they are going to crack. The reason for all of this is because a kid wants my "greddy kit" for $900 (turbo, manifold, blue box) So I have an oppertunity to upgrade for free. Does anyone have any experience with the turbo I am going to be getting (laggy, quick?)
yes it does fit, but the whole reason for doing this is to make money on selling the "greddy" stuff. $900 for the 15g, manifold, dsm side mt, blue box is a good deal to me. I can get a t3 for cheap and am in the process of looking for a manifold. Have any suggestions? I personally have no probroblem with the 15g. I love it. But by doing this I can get a bad *** intercooler and a slightly larger turbo. I realized that my car will never be a auto x car so I really don't need the down low grunt. I believe I will see more hp by going with the t3 60 comp and 48 ex, and a FMIC.
Yea I was thinking of selling the GReddy stuff, but it's going to hard now that the Apexi kit is cheaper than the GReddy kit new.

What else would there be to sell besides the blue box and turbo? And I can't see anyone wanting a greddy turbo without the manifold unless they have a greddy kit and a bad turbo or something. I still don't understand how the Garret T28 mates up to the greddy manifold and why everyone with a greddy kit doesn't upgrade the turbo.

Because most people with the GReddy kit don't know that it bolts up. Also a new downpipe and discharge flange has to be fabricated. The main reason why ppl get the GReddy is because it's cheap. Upgrading the turbo would cost more $$

the td05-18g is not a low end spooler for the sohc only running 10 or so psi. the turbo I am getting is a fully rebuilt and balanced t3 60 comp and .48 exhaust for 325. I am getting 1/3 of a f-350 intercooler , still huge, for $100. My manifold is is still up in the air. I am looking for the best one for less than 300. Tinker219 wants 325(shipped) for a SS log manifold. I really want the performance gain from a tubular mani but also want it to last long. I am oping to get a mild steel tubular from him. Tial wastegates are 200 at groupbuycenter right now and deltagates are on ebay for aound 150. So that is were my money is going
