Default problems problems

Ok, so the car got insured and been working for a couples weeks (blows smoke..grrr) I was driving down the road and out fo no wheres i lost power i was startled by this and pulle dinto a parking lot. It shut right off. Now i thought i had no gas, so i put some in, sitll didnt help. All she does is crank, i hear the starter cranking, and i believe it was flooded after a bit. It would start to backfire kinda when i cranked it. It almost started a few times, just for a few seconds. Any suggestions. new rotor, new cap, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires. I chandged the coil and ignitor from another disty i had 2 weeks ago.

you might have overheated and blown the headgasket, that would cause the car to die, if the motor was hot for a signifigant amount of time, than the head may be warped.

The timing belt mihgt have brokeen if its a high milage motor, check that, that could cause it to stop suddenly.

Is there any oil or coolant splattered over the engine bay?
