Default diagnostic codes on '88 lxi

can anyone tell me where I can find out what the different flashes mean on the computer under the seat? I have an '88 LXi, 4sp auto. and am getting 7 quick flashes. The car goes fine as long as I keep accellarating but hesitates when I try to maintain any speed.

Thanks,
would that cause a CEL to turn on? or is that a different problem?

That would definitely cause the CEL to come on, and it would make for some erratic engine characteristics as well. When my TPS went bad (which was actaully my fault....damnit), the CEL came on and it wouldn't stay running at idle. I'd let off the gas and it would just die as if you had turned the key off (ever try driving a manual while having to constantly keep your right foot on the gas? Takes some getting used to!). Is your car running fine? CEL? If it's running normally and no CEL then it's probably an old code that never got cleared from the ECU

ya, had an '84 Mazda B2000 that I had to drive like that. only difference was I had to keep the throttle floored just to keep it running. what a POS!!!!
As for your other question, no, the car isn't running that well and I am getting a CEL. Where is the TPS located? is it something easily replaced?
Thanks for the replies, they are very helpful.
