Rough running until CEL turns on???
2000 Si with '98 b18c JDM Type R swap
I got a CEL a few months ago, pulled the code using the jumper method and it was Cylinder Position Sensor. I replaced the dizzy with one I had laying around and the car starting running just fine and was fine for 2 or so months. The CEL came back on, found it to be the same Cylinder Position Sensor one again, but it was running perfectly fine, so I left it.
In the last two weeks, the car starting running pretty rough, lots of hesitation unless I go ahead and floor it (not really revving high, just giving it >50% throttle). It runs rough until the CEL turns on, then it runs literally perfect.
So my question is, could this be another bad dizzy or something else? I haven't rechecked the CEL recently, so it's possible it's throwing a different code. I'm puzzled by it running great when the CEL is on, perhaps like it's going to a preset fuel map maybe?
