Where can I get the best price on a Fiber Images hood for my Type R? I am in Virginia.

Friend of mine just got a FI CF hood for his Y2K celica... didn't fit very well, just incase you were looking for opinions as well. Looked like it was built very well, unfortunately didnt fit that well.

 

I agree not to expect too much in terms of fitment with the FI hoods. Some have been pretty happy with them while many others have not. For the money, the hoods look decent, and with any lower-priced C/F hood, I think thats about all you can expect unfortunately. Look into BKNW as an alternative. I haven't heard of many people having fitment problems with these hoods and price is pretty comparable. I don't have any personal experience with them though.

 

i "think" they only sell through authorized distributors so your best bet is to get one from the east coast distributor i.e. Sam.

i got mine dirt cheap but that was cuz i know the "distributor"

I'll throw out my opinion here. I have a FI hood on my Civic and I am pretty happy with it. The only thing I would have changed is I would ave asked them if they could have added the holes for the washer nozzles.

I would also recommend a Body Kits NW carbon fiber hood. Physical appearance and fitment is much better that the Fiber Images. Body Kits NW also distributes the Fiber Images hood...if you contact them they can explain to you the differences/improvements in their hood vs. FI.

They had a group buy going for a while...$475 + shipping w/ a 1 year warranty! Might want to check it out.

Sam is a great guy to deal with and Fiber Images also has kick *** customer sevice.

I would not expoect any CF hood to fit like OEM that being said $500 for an FI hood is a great price and then from there depends on where you live for shipping.
