I recently installed a tach from a 90 crx si, from what the tach shows when accelerating the fuel cutoff is at 7000rpm. is the factory tach just off a tad? I plan on swapping an engine in the near future so thats why im runnin the stock engine so hard

 

I believe the tach is off a bit. Isn't it 6800 for a dx?

 

on my 89 i would hit it at 7200 but now i dont hit it at all, i hit rev limiter before anything, and thats at 8200. and i still have the dx engine, with mpfi

 

I had a problem with my ignitor coil, and it caused my tach needle to jump all over the place on acceleration. I asked the dealership if it was going to hit the fuel cut-off it it bounced too high, and he said that there was no fuel cut-off, so not to worry. I kind of think he didn't know what he was talking about, but maybe the electronic rev limiter cuts in before the fuel cuts out... ?? Any ideas on that?
