Installed AutoGage Tach.......98 civic DX
I wired it through the cluster. Had no problems. so every one says 6500 is redline. but how do i find out for sure without hitting the rev limiter. The Haynes manual does not state it and i dont have the original owners manual.

If your engine is stock (D16Y7) then your redline is 6800. Civic LX's have the same motor as you (and unfortunately, me also) but have a factory tach and that's the redline.

just hit the rev limiter and find out...it does not damage your car one bit...the fuel will cut briefly and knock your revs back down....this is what it's there for.
