vtec pistons in b18b engine?
yes, rod lenght might need to be changed, but yes we haev an ls with ITR pistons in it .
I have a set of JDM itr pistons if you wnat em

i think he used ITR rods.
the only thing i can do is put my itr pistons in one of our B18 blocks and assemble it to see if there are any clearnace probs, , , but thne they wont be new like they are now .
I garuntee they will work , but not 100% sure which rods, i can assume from what i know they were Type R rods.

I wouldnt mind if they pistons were used but if the rods and pistons dont work together you will be out of a set of pistons and rods if everything doesnt work out right.

i was just told the LS rods should work fine with the pistons .
I mind though becuase if you dont buy them, and i try to sell them to someone else, they are used then
Call an engine builder and ask them , i would get em and try them with the LS rods, if they dont work , which i think they will , then try to grab itr rods, and they should do the trick

From my knowledge the differences in stroke means you would need a longer rod then the GSR/ITR, so I would assume using a rod for the LS would work. Now the ITR pistons should fit on LS rods since almost ever B series part is interchangable. The only thing Im not to sure about is whether on the LS the rod is the pressed or floating part, because on the ITR the wrist pin floats in the piston and the rod holds it in, but I believe(not sure) that on the LS the wrist pin floats on the rod and is pressed into the piston. If all this is true then the wrist pin will slide out and **** your block. Something to check into anyways.
LS rods with any piston is fine
GSR/TYPE R rods cannot be used in a LS block unless some parts on the side is shaved off. but yes they can still work but needs to be taken to a machine shop. it is easier if you just stick the pistons on LS rods.
i got b16a PR3 pistons on my LS rods in a b18a block and it runs great.

oh another guy in Richmond =P your not a ricer send me a message and i can hook you up with good people to do work for ya.
and it's always nice to know another person from the baords cause usually they are non-rice hehe

Well with ctr pistions you'll end up with a high compression Doch no-vtec (12.4 i think)
ITR psitons will yeild a little bit lower compression. be prepared to get denation if your not running 96+octane. I would not reccomend this for a daily driver.
goog luck HTH

Yeah i need help with this **** becuase I'm gonna be runing all motor sleeper ls so I'm trying to raise the compression but I have no idea what the hell to do with making these pistons work.
the pistons will just drop in , detonation is not ness true all the time . the ctr ones will yield higher comp i think ,
my JDM itrs will yield i think 10.6-11.1 in an LS block . so it wont be anyworries.
worst case scenario youll be the same compression as a JDM Type R or USDm type R

yea daniel isn't a ricer
. It seems like pretty much everyone in richmond is though

what does vtec have to do with pistons?
vtec is all about the head and yes they will fit you may have to put the ls rods again but they will fit and increase your c/r points (they will make your compression rate higher)
