the only catch to the spoon t-body is that it is 70mm but tapers down to 62mm where it reaches the manifold.

I've run one but modified. Spoon TB is just a tappered unit. Throttle plate is not modified. I modified mine by boring it out to 64.5mm at the plate. It seems the ECU may not like this but with Power FC no problem. I gained 3 whp across the board with it.

A local machine shop does tapering. Way cheap too. Runs like $75.00.

Do it to a stock ITR throttle body and you're good as gold.

Modified throtle plates stick. I have yet to see one that NEVER sticks.
That's why I say go w/ ITR throttle boy. It's the biggest from Honda.

Or a 3.2CL TypeS. But it doesn't fit. I tried. It's 66mm from the factory. The bolt holes are the same, but a CL-S has an additional sensor that doesn't even come CLOSE to working. It'll be a huge vacuum leak.

You mean Spoon open up the bore to 70 mm, but it tapers down to the stock unmodified TB plate and is still 62 mm by the manifold side?

What a marketing rip off they are... I forgot what size but I think my JG TB is about 68 mm or so on the open side, back side is 64 mm. My TB does not stick at all, and actually I lost my TB stop screw too. Works fine. Had if for ..... like 40k miles now?

Ive never seen a type s throttle body. Couldnt you take off the sensor and then block off the openings? How about welding in the hole to the sensor and then bore it out to keep it smooth?? Would this be possible... or is that sensor just that much in the way?

So only the neck is 70mm? Hmmm, that does suck, unless of course having the whole unit at 70mm is too much flow. Yeah, that pic was the AP-1 TB. Any dyno junkie with increased flow(spec B package) want to swap one in and try it out?

Hmmm...

Just thinking that tapering my 68mm TB should bring me into the 76mm neighbourhood....

Isn't the S2000 TB bigger than the ITR's??

I'm using a taper bored ITR TB - good for a few hp. Don't bother buying the Spoon.

Phat R - who wants to put an S2000 TB in his ITR.....

Default concept

hey you guys have to realize that spoon seems to do things for a reason. here in the TB i think they are trying to speed up the velocity of the air through the TB. remember as you decrease the diameter of the iar passage, the velicity of the air increases. that is also the concept of the venturi plate.

There was no marketing rip off. They actually tell you it's tappered..just not all dealers tell this to there customers. Some go for the full bore TB or tapered one. With my Spoon TB you feel alot better throttle response and slight increase of power. Plus there is nice racing sound from it as well. Atleast I noticed it and few my friends as well. The only reason for a full bore is for max power but does not always give you same effect on TB response. I used both reg and 70mm Spoon and I did notice a difference. I'm in the process of upgrading my ECU to an Apexi' FCC so I miss the 70mm...which the 2000+ ITR's ECU's ELV's do not seem to like.
