Default Anybody ever have problems w/ crower's cam?

One of my friend has a b18b and has stage 1 or 2 crowers cams with no upgraded valve spring or retrainers, but has i/h/e...he had it in for like almost a year now i think, and now his car is dead? he blame it on the crowers but he's not sure, he said that could be the crowers that *** up his block because his block was stock and couldnt handle it, i dont think that would happen, but he said that he has some freinds that has the same problems too, so if any of u guys would know what is going on here let us know! thanks

You should try the Tech forum.

I've heard some bad things about Crower Cams. A number of people in the Tech forum posted that their Cams BROKE and fucked their motors up.

Go with Skunk2 cams.

I know a buddy that broke his Crower cams. He had a full JUN valvetrain and everything. Crower wouldn't back their product and said it was b/c the valvetrain was faulty. **** that.... Crower sucks.

Get Sunk2, JUN, or Toda.

If he said his block couldn't handle the cams, then how is it that the cams are at fault for breaking his engine?

I take it he means 62403 cams.

I have yet to see a thread regarding Crower's LS cams breaking. Those of you who think they suck, should probably search (now that the archive is back up) and find out why the VTEC cam breakage problem has been happening....

It's people who don't upgrade to the ITR Lost Motion Assemblies who have problems with their cams breaking. The b16 and GSR LMA's can't handle the increased lift. You wouldn't put Toda C's or JUN3's in without upgrading the LMA's, so what makes people think the Crower's are any different?

The LS cams probably didn't cause his "dead" engine, but you're going to need to say what the problem is and elaborate before people can give you opinions.

no, i'm guessing that, just like most other people, it was easier for this person to blame it on the cams than to look at the situation and think if perhaps there was ANYTHING he could have possibly done incorrectly to cause it to happen. but hey, blaming somebody else is easier than thinking, and it's the american way!
