Like the title says i would like to know if anyone has PERSONAL experience with these coilover, I have been looking at getting some and i would like toknow what the ride quality is like and how the handling is with this particular setup.

I have a 2000 EK hatch with a b16 swap, any personal accounts with these coilovers would help tremendously. Thanks.

of topic but i also have 00 hatch. wanted to ask how come u chose b16 and hows it runnin? i have tanabe coilovers on mines and love it, don't even need sway bars(well maybe just the rear)

 

Don't get anything less than B6's. The B/B2's are not designed for height adjustment. So if you go around playing with the spring perch, you will lose a lot of suspension travel and mess up the preload. The B's don't even have damping adjustment. Save up and get the B6's.

 

do you have the B6's or have you had the b2's? Is the dampening adjust able on the B2's? So are the B6's better for travel and raising and lowering the suspension with out messing up the preload?

my buddy has B2's on his 98 GSR....I can't believe how good they feel. The only coilovers I can compare them to ar Apexi N1 full coilovers...and I prefer the Zeals. They handle great, ride great, etc....

I'm waiting on my B6's. They're on their way here from Japan. If you want a "true" coilover, then you have to get at least B6's. The bottom bracket of the shock rotates to adjust height, allowing you to retain the full travel and preload adjustment. The B/B2's are not designed to be height adjusted.

The B6's have 6-way damping adjustment. They are identical to S6 besides having a chromoly body and regular springs. The S6's have an aluminum body and Swift lightweight springs.

You said that they are not meant for hieght adjustiblity, why not? Why would you want to adjust them when the are already set for optimal hieght and performance?

Also when you say that the bottom of the B6 turns for height adjustment what do you mean, why would you adjust it like that, or better yet what is the advantage to having that option?

Oh well that thread just made me feel like i understand alot more then i did, so now the only question that I feel didnt really get answered, partially because i dont think it got asked.

Good reading huh? There are a lot of threads regarding suspension setups and different brands. I went through all this when I was suspension shopping.

The difference between B6 and S6 is materials and springs.

The B6 is made of chromoly steel, while the S6 is made of lighter aluminum.

The B6 uses regular Zeal springs (12kgmm/8kgmm or 14k/10k) while the S6 uses lightweight "Swift" brand springs (same rates).

Go to http://htt://www.aj-racing.com and click on Zeal. They have all the product specs and pictures. I ordered my B6's from Mike @ IPSracing.com. AJR is the distributor for many JDM parts. IPS and R&D are dealers. I suggest buying from one of them or Leo from JDMSpecperf.

One more thing, chromoly steel (although heavier) is better for daily driving. I heard that the S6's are suitable for the track only, meaning smooth perfect tarmac. I'm not saying that they are too stiff for the street, but that the materials used are better suited for the track.

Chromoly steel should be more durable for the rough roads found on the street.

 

i have b6's on my 97 hatch. stiff as hell, feel every road bump, definately NOT for comfort.. but i don't care for comfort

 

did you get 14/10 or 12/8?

 

12/8.. it already breaks necks where i live.
