You can use the shift linkage that is on the car. Also, you can use the a/c compressor and alternator from the car, as they are the same parts. Shim the left side of the engine down with washers so that you can fit the top timing belt cover under the hood.

The swap is pretty easy, really you just remove the HF engine and install the ZC engine. Everything plugs in except the distributor (but the harness is easy to modify) and the EGR control wiring, which is not used.

http://www.gamesbbs.com/~dmoore/zc.htm

The above site seems to have some good information on the ZC swap.

One thing that that site does not say is that instead of plugging the extra vacuum hose, you can run it to a T fitting and have everything work just as the factory intended.

Other than this, I recommend getting an Si transaxle for its short gearing. Or use the ZC transaxle, but you will need custom axles.

I just took off my power steering pump and bracket, didnt wanna have to deal with attempting to hooking that up, if its even possible (probably alotta work required with the steering rack.. i dunno tho). It'd just be another belt runnin off the pully to take a horse or two.

What tranny are you using? The ZC tranny w/ZC midshaft requires 90-93 'teg axles (I think thats right). Also Bryson's website http://www.theZCR.com/

hmmm. i did this exact swap 2 years ago into my 89hf, and i say it was worth it. things to know are that the axels are 90-93.(i tried 86-89 and shot bearings all over the place when i turned). Also i needed a zc intermediate shaft for the zc tranny. None of the other shafts worked for me. Also when you hook up the wire for the cam sensor, make sure its the right wire. there are two wires that look alike and if you hook up the wrong one, you will blow your ignitor(even though you have another in the hf motor). Also make sure that all your connections are goode. I waited a week not knowing what was wrong and it ended up being, a prong on a connector bent and didnt go into its proper spot. That's all i can say. Oh yeah, i got bored of the motor and now its running 10psi. Now that is fun!!! anyway, good luck

i did my zc swap without shimming the motor down. i just cut a few inches of ribbing out of the bottom of the hood with a tin snips. i figured out where it was gonna hit the timing belt cover by setting the hood down on it......then cut it out. people dont always do this cause they think it compromises the "structural integrity of the hood", but just cut a few inches out, the hood isnt very strong in an accident anyways...i wouldnt neccesarily trust shimming the motor down, but i'm sure its fine if a lot of people do it.....dpfi-mpfi is super simple, just download the instructions, dig out the ecu, move and run a few wires, and your all set. good luck
