Cleaning the engine bay
Simply green. 50/50 solution let sit for about ten minutes and go at it with some water and a brush if you have to. For real greasy gunk I sometimes use brake cleaner.

GUNK Engine Degreaser Spray or Foam. Use a whole can if you have to. Brush the real thick and stubborn dirt. 10-15 minutes (depending on how dirty it is in the first place. Becareful not to spray directly into your Alternator. Get the Firewall and strut towers real good cause they are the points that really stand out. If you want the engine to look brand new like it did at the show room then forget it, but it will look 1000 times better.
There is another brand of Engine Degreaser by a company called CD2 they have an engine detailing Kit. The finish is awesome. I bought that separate cause I normally use Gunk Degreaser, but I will try the CD2 degreaser next time. The engine detail is a finishing spray that keeps the engine and everything under the hood looking wet.Let the engine dry after degreasing it and then spray this stuff. This stuff really stinks when you dry it. Spray on liberally and let it set with the hood open for a few minutes then start the engine and let it run for a few. The stuff heats up and kinda cooks in and you get this LONG LASTING wet look.
I guess this is kinda like black magic for engines. Good Stuff though

spray FOAMY ENGINE BRITE all over a cold engine let the foam degrease the engine for 10 mins.. run water over the entire engine bay to wash away grease.. start car to dry engine bay
note: cover anything electrical you dont want to get wet.

do a search. A NSX owner showed me a really nice way to clean the engine bay. This made my engine bay look brand new. It's very time consuming.
You need two things. Gunk Foamy engite brite and Foamy Armor All for tires. They have to be the FOAMY version or else it might now work.
Wait for the engine to cool down. First spray the entire bay with the Gunk engine brite. Spray everywhere you can and let it sit for 5 mintues. Rinse with a hose with med/high pressure.
Wait 5 more minutes and spray the entire engine with the Foamy Armor All for tires. Next crank up the car, close the hood and let the engine run for 15 minutes. This will dry up the armor all and allow it to soak in, open the hood and smile.
I couldn't believe how clean my engine was after that. Only scary part was spraying the engine without covering anything up. I had no problems.

wow, HUGE improvement! Nice job. Hey, one question for ya now that it's been a few days.. Does the armor all stuff attract dust like it seems to do on my dashboard? After like 3 days, my armor all on the dash gets filled wiht dust. Just wondering how that's holding up. Thanks for the tip!
Wow!!! I would pull my engine every month just clean the engine bay and motor if I could. Thats toooo hardcore for me.

I don't really like the greasy look so I just get that orange stuff (forgot the name of it...but it is not a 100% degreaser, so it won't hurt the paint as much. First i covered certain items (battery, at, siren, Air filter, etc.) Next while the engine is cold spray the orange joint all over the engine, let it sit for a lil 10 mins.whatever, then go at it w/ the hose, next start the car and close the hood......let it run for 15 mins or so........Bam........super clean. Clean and not greasy......just like it came out of the factory on the 1st day
. My 2 cents
