Default Q about AEM bypass valve

Well, after making my own Cold Air Intake about a year ago, I've finally bought a Bypass Valve for it. My question is... how exactly does it work? Also, since the cuts on my piping are kind of eratic, will it still operate properly? How much room should be between the pipes on the inside? Here's a pic:

From what I gather is the valve is great help if your intake is completly submerged in a puddle of water.

I have always thought that the best method is to have a split in your piping where you can make it into a short ram on rainy days and CAI on the good days.

BTW nice intake. Kudos.

Hey its the "O" face guy lol

If the filter is submerged it will pull air from the valve rather than the filter.
