AC removal
I have ac in my 90 civic hatch, and I want to take it out because of all the room it takes up in the engine bay. Can I just take out the ac, lines, and cut the belt, or do I need to buy a different belt, and do something were the ac lines plug into the black reservior on the fire wall? Let me know fellas!
you should be able to just remove the belt, since it doesnt run to anything else (your alternator uses a separate belt). as far as the lines going into the firewall: just leave them connected to nothing, it wont hurt anything. thats what i did. once you get that condensor out from in front of your radiator, you wont believe how much cooler your car runs with the extra air flow through the radiator. when you go to vent the system (if there's anything left), make sure you dont breathe the gas that comes out. also, it will be very cold, so wear gloves or just avoid contact.
My How-To should explain it to you with pictures...

i read that there are places the drain the air condition stuff out for like 20bucks. i would do that because it's not safe for the environment.

Uhh not only that its bad but it is illegal, not like the EPA will find out but if your neigbor or a friend knows your doing it and they call the call anyone like the cops or the epa, then you will seriously get fucked.
Im not kidding im EPA certified and I know that you can recieve up to 50,000 to 100,000 dollar fine and jail time.
not like anyone will find out but dont go blastin it everywhere, since the person that turns you in gets a little bonus(no joke)
most shops can recover your AC for cheap if not for free, but prob. charge you atleast to use the equipment.
or just dont tell anyone and let it vent over night.
