Default e-brake light never goes off

A couple days ago I was driving my car and out of nowhere the e-brake light came on. After a few minutes it went off but for the next couple days it would go on and off sparatically. And today when I was out it came on and hasn't turned off. What is going on? The Gremlins in my car are driving me crazy!!!! TIA

Check your fluid level. There's a float in the cap that moves up and down with the fluid, if you're low, that will also light the brake light.

If your leaking break fluid, and you have rear drums, than check your slave cylinders in the back, they may be bad.

Are you serious? This is what that problem comes from? Mine was doing it all last week and I was like "WTF is this crazy car talking about my ebrake isn't on!!!" so I took out the bulb from the cluster. But I guess I will stick it back in and add some fluid.

they are called wheel cylinders for the rear drums, not slave cylinders those are for clutches. and most likely if those are blown you will have to replace the rear shoes because brake fluid is soaked into them and then they are worthless because the car wont stop as good

Thanks Everyone. I'll check the fluid when I get home today. Didn't think I'd get so many responses! Gotta love H-T
