I have a 90 accord and i was try to get help on tips and signs of a fuel pump going out. So far my gas floater ( the one that tells you how much gas you have ) does work, so i estimate around 300 miles per tank it takes before it runs out, but even when the tank is full the car "attemps" to turn off, untill i put in the clutch and give it gas to continue running, even then the car feels like the engine lacks gas. The cars does it mostly when almost at a complete stop. I've tried gas treatments/Nos octane booster which also is suppost to "clean injector" ... i've done searches here and other sites and no luck will app and help thanks.

 

i must be that lucky, i'm the only on that has run into this problem

 

If you think you have a problem with a fuel pump, hook up a presure gauge to see if it drops off.

 

hook up a pressure gauge and look for erratic pressure readings...

also when the last time you changed the fuel filter?

 

thanks for the help, i tried the gauge " bougth the Haynes book" and it was holding the exact pressure, the fuel filter was replaced a 3 months ago when i bought it, the reason i changed it was when the car would be in neutral just idling around 800 rpm, the engine would have a "shake" to it , i checked all the vaccum hoses and since the car only had 101k on it i went stright to the fuel filter, replaced it and the shaking cont. i also did the check on it were you here underneath the tank to listen the the fuel pump, and it run with the key on and with the car running, the only thing that crossed my mind now is "maybe" the tank might be dirty, but hopefully i'll drop the tank today, but thanks turbod16chiovnidca/twkdcd595, good looking out
