Default Hondata Owners!!

Im in the market for a Hondata now for my N/A setup. I was thinking about the stage 2. Any owners out here with the stage 2 can describe the diference with the powerband, also what ecu are you using?

i have a stage 2 with a p28 ecu. use the search function for more info. this topic has been covered numerous times. as far as powerband it all depends on the setup and the tuner. tune, tune, tune is always what i recommend.

The "stages" have been upgraded to the S100 series and the S200. S100 is nice because it is internal in the ECU so it does not require any additional mounting of the Hondata Box. The S100 can be purchased N/A or Boost. The s200 is nice if you plan on upgrading later or want all of the functions, Boost, Datalog, 3-step......ect. you can purchase them when you buy the unit or upgrade at anytime by purchasing them later. The stage are still available if needed.

Both units can be tuned the exact same. But as with anything Hondata is only as good as its tuner so choose wisely.

if you can afford/borrow a wideband o2 sensor/lambda meter, the ROMeditor software, and the EPROM burner, and purchase the DataLogging option, you can use the new Autotune feature with a laptop computer to tune using real-world loads (hopefully at the track, not on the street). you will need a basemap from which to start, though any competent dealer (i'd hope Hondata requires a certain level of dealer competency) should be able to provide one given your configuration, and there are many to download directly from Hondata. the ROMulator should also make tuning 'on the fly' easier. (i can't wait to try mine.)

Not really considering the number of internet Hondata sales that we have to retune because company "X" base map barely runs the customers car or wobn't even start it.

P28 based Hondata with an S200, tuned by Lawrence at DynoSpot Racing in San Jose, he's local, he's a great tuner, use him.

Quite a few...found out that the stock injectors weren't large enough for my simple bolt-ons. The car is a completely different vehicle after proper tuning.

Partial throttle tuning is fine, but I wouldn't pay to have it done.
