Default Would anyone be interested in this Hondata feature???

Basically its a replacement for the now defunct stage 1 kit.

Similar to a regular chipped ecu, the new stage 1 can be programmed by
a hondata dealer just like any other stage, except it will not have its own
co-processor box, will not be able to run boost and will not have any user adjustable limits(ie stage2+). However, the ecu will be setup the same as any
other stage, so that in the future it can easily be upgraded to the next level.

I think this will be much better alternative to the generic ecu programs running
around out there. Also it allows people to get the hondata tuning, at a very
reasonable price with the option to upgrade easily in the future.

I would like to hear your opinions on this.

That's a pretty nice option, there are times that I wish that I had the Hondata, but then again I wouldn't be able to make changes on the fly while I'm out and about...it's a very economical mod for people that are just starting to make modifications.

Considering that ecu chipping is around 150 and this will probably be just over
200(probably around 225), i think its a reasonable price.

If you wanted to be able to reprogram yourself you would have to go with stage 4
which is completely on the other end of the spectrum anyway. This is meant as
a better alternative to those looking to get a generic aftermarket chip.

Yes, I agree. It is a great deal...if it is reprogramable, just go to your local Hondata dealer and have them write you a new program...which happens to be a 1 1/2 hour drive for me, I'll be spending some time with them this Saturday...I love the datalogging that is available with the Hondata.

This upgrade should be available in approximately 2 weeks or so.
Anyone that is interested can contact myself or hondata and I will
keep you up to speed on progress.

DynoSpot Racing in Mountainview, CA...I don't have the Hondata, but at times I wish I did...but I do enjoy the PowerFC quite a bit.
I would have to use an adapter harness and purchase and older ECU, and have it setup for the Hondata system, either by Hondata, or the Hondata Dealer.
