Default problems...... w/tach please help!!!

I talked to the tech at Autometer and he said the positive and negative on the back of the cluster would not put out 12 volts for the tach. it tried two different tach leads and it still does not read the right rpm. it jumps around and works when it wants to. if you flick the tach with your finger it jumps to. maybe something internally or do i have to take to pos and neg to the battery to get 12 volts to the tach. HOW DID YOU GUYS DO IT HELP BY THE WAY ITS A 98 CIVIC

This is confusing. Both of you claim that the DX you own is your own car. Yet there is two of you, and I don't even know if you are related. Please clarify this, because it's getting very confusing.

Hahahaha, no attitudes boss. Just asking.

I don't install tachs, it's too rice. I just buy cars that have tachs in the instrunment panel! I mean, why do you need a huge circle tach on your dashboard, it's not as if you are going to race anyone!

Come on, just buy a new gauge cluster, wire it properly, and your problem is solved.
