Help! My ebrake isn't working well!
My ebrake no longer holds my car from rolling on even a slight hill. I adjusted the nut under the center console all the way it will go and still its not that great. Is there any other way such as on the calipers or something I can adjust these so they hold better? I have rear discs by the way.
Jack the rear of the car up. I'll tell you how to adjust it properly.
First, pull the brake up. And make sure it's catching on BOTH wheels, and not just one of them. If it is, then release the brake, and pull it up only two clicks. I'd remove the console so that you can get a good look at the mechanism, and understand how it works. Then have a friend/family member go and start spinning the rear wheel. Now tighten the cable on that side until it stops the wheel from spinning. Go to the other side and do the same.

Most of the time if your ebrake isnt working well you need new rear brake shoes. Adjusting the ebrake nut near the console will help but if your rear shoes are worn it will only help a little.
