I've been looking into this for a while.
I was told that B16a2 are a better piston to use
1) you don't have to machine the rod to get them to fit.
2) they have a higher compersion ratio.

if i were to use the itr pistons, could i use my stock b18b rods or do i have to go with itr rods too? same question with the b16a2 pistons, can i use my stock b18b rods or do i have to go with the b16a2 rods?
im new at this....so im still lost...but learning!

If you use GSR/ITR/CTR pistons, the small end of the B18B rod needs to be machined to accept them. I have run both ITR and CTR pistons in an LS/VTEC with good results.
I don't know for sure about B16A2 pistons, but it appears that the consensus is that they are a direct replacement, no modification to the rods necessary.
