9005 headlight question
for those using the conversion which bulbs do you use? ive searched and most seem to really like the conversion due to more light output but it seems as if a lot of users burn out bulbs pretty quickly... if i were to do this cuz i def want more light, should i use those SS's everyone refers to? which bulbs are they? the cool blues or the silver stars? is there a difference? or should i just get sylvania bulbs that fit the 9006..what do u guys suggest? how many watts do those 9005 have...if i do the conversion do i need to worry about the wiring getting too hot and poss melting...sorry if these questions seem stupid as ****...i obviously dont know much about this, please advise and post your thoughts..thanks
I'm using the 9005 Silver Stars (SS). I belive they run at 70 watts or so but many people run them w/out problems. I have yet to hear of melted housings or wiring from the 9005 SS conversion. Everyone does say they tend to burn out w/in 6-8 mo of use but I've had mine for 6 mo. and no problems yet. But when they do, I have an HID conversion waiting in the wings. HTH
