I have just found the best mod you can do to a 4G civic or 2G crx. http://www32.brinkster.com/tjshondas/ Go to shock travel mod. Try it, if you have a lowered car this is one awsome mod. My car rides like a goddamn 7series BMW now. Well maybe not quite, but close. It cost me like nothing and is a tremendous difference. If you got an hour and a half to two hours try it you won't be dissapointed. I've done this and both brake mods on my CRX all of them work great. My Civic have rear disc now also, and will get this shock mod very soon. I want to run 14" HX wheels or it would have 11.1" rotors too. Oh yeah coil overs are a must.

lowers the strut.... then u raise the coilover.... actually gives the strut more piston travel.... means a more smooth ride and more lifetime to the schocks

Hahahahaah....I know you just IMed me, but I will post this here anyways.
I do have the 86-89 accord front shocks.
Here's my post...

I now have them installed and can visually see that they have about 1"-1.5" more travel. Before when I lowered my front, I could see the shocks kinda squishing the bump stops. Now with the accords, there is about an 1" of travel even before it hits the bump stop...
Unfortunetly I havn't been able to drive the car yet because it just snowed...
but I will give a full report when I do.

how are u going to get them warrantied? koni requests a copy of your insurance papers to prove the shocks are on the correct car.. so u've basically made your warranty void.
