Well I got my new shock/spring setup finally...
Consists of:
Front: 89 Accord Bilstein shocks. 1" shorter shock body for more travel.
Rear: 91 CRX koni yellows.
Skunk2 coil-overs.
The reason for just the yellows in the back other than the fact that Koni doesn't make the yellow for the 89 Accord, is that the car will mainly be raced at the drags. I wanted to be able to stiffen up the rear at the track, but be able to keep a nice ride on the street.
Input?
Thanks
Bryson
get back to me after you put it in i want to know if your setup will work without having to cut anything. and how well it rides. thanks
a "stiffer" rear will be worse on the street than if the front were "stiffer". has to do with the rear being further from the center of gravity so thus the motions at the rear suspension are greater due to the greater polar moment.
i went from 450f/900r tokicos all around, to just going back to stock in the rear so effectively 450f/120r with stock rear shock. youd think it would be hell to drive, but it was rather tame, just steering was weird due to the excessive caster because the front of the car was slammed, and the rear was way up high. so the *** was probably off like 15 degrees. looked pretty ridiculous.

Bryson,
What's the part number for the front Accord shocks? Bilstein has two different part numbers. 1 for Accords built befor 8/1989 and a different part# for Accords built after 8/1989

Great. Those are the ones for the 8/1989 and earleir accord. 1135 is Left. 1136 is Right.
88CRX:
I actually have a crappy stock shock/arospeed coil-over setup right now (yeah I know
). They have only been on about 10K, so It really won't be that hard to install.[Modified by Bryson, 1:52 PM 4/4/2003]
Will do once there installed. I don't have time until this thursday however...
but I will definetly post up how they ride when I'm, done...
