I bought a JDM ITR Shift boot and I was just wondering what has to be done to modify it to fit better? I'm sure some of you have done this before so any tips would be appreciated.

 

i didn't modify mine at all & it looks good. i added teh razo shift **** to match & it looks pretty clean

 

Yeah, that's the same shift **** I have, I just thought the ITR boot looked to be larger.

not an ITR boot but I used a GSR boot and I had cut some of the bottom part off to make it fit nicely, before it was too big...

I have the JDM ITR boot. I measured it up to the factory one, and cut it, and made slits in the approperate locations, it looks stock. Ryan

I have that same **** but I don't use it....gonna wait and try it when I get a short shifter and my shifter bushings installed, right now it makes it feel all floppy and loose.

Looks good with the boot, but the boot looks a little bunched up...I guess if it were me I'd trim it down a bit if possible.

on my razo **** what i did to make the **** fit tighter on my ss; i used the smaller insert that was not made for a hond shifter & used my tap & die set to make the insert large enuf for the ss- it's on there now. & yea, it is kinda bunched up but i kinda like it that way; maybe 'cause i'm used to it. i also have the mugen shift ****, but the metal gets friggn cold during the winter. i think that i'd rather have one of the new si shiftknobs b/c they're factory w/ red stitching

 

Actually, mine fits well on the shaft itself...what I meant is that the weight of the ****, since it's 200g or whatever, makes the shifter move too sloppily since my bushings are 13 years old. Once I replace them and get a shorter shifter for less leverage, it may work to my advantage to have the heavy **** on there.
