climate control removal

Default climate control removal

i cant get my damn climate control out! i took out the 3 screws in the front, but i cant get it out of the center console. how do i do it?

there is an alighnment clip in the back, about an inch wide, should have a screw on it was well.

now on to my next Q. How the hell do i disconnect those stupid cables? the ones that look like bike cables?

i just ripped mine out, didnt work anyway, plus they were superglued in place. Place my ac had a leak, plus im going turbo, plus it was cracked in half, plus..... oh well, thats it. I had a hell of a time figuring out how o just remove it from where it sits. You have to go throught the back.

I havent ever taken the cables out, but I don't think that they disconnect at the unit, I think they disconnect at the other end, further under the dash where the main gear is. I dont know though for sure.

i found where one of them disconnects in the back, and i took it off, but you cant get back to where the other one is. any other ideas?

man those things are a bitch to get in and out... mine old one was already all busted so i just took it out piece by piece which made it easy... getting the new one in was a bitch also. if your putting in a new one, be very careful, they are very fragile. my old climate control is in like 5 pieces now,,, but i got it out!

i finally got it out. i was taking it out, because it was broken, and i'll have to glue it back up, so because it was already in two pieces it was actually pretty easy to get out. all i had to do was pop the clips off of the cables and pull them out. then yank the **** out of the unit to get it out
