retarding timing question
i know retarding the ignition timing will affect driveability and it will result in hotter exhaust temperature, aside from these will retarding the timing have any destructive effect on a turbocharged b16? in what way?
i'm planning to retard my timing once i put back my turbo coz i'm going to run the hack, how much timing should i take off? i've read an installation article on jrsc in sport compact car and the timing was retarded below 10 degress as per jrsc instruction and i don't know if it's a good idea. any idea?
any help will be appreciated.

Retarding will cause less heat if I remember. On my LS I went from 16 base timing to 13 base timing at 6.5PSI and have no issues what so ever with ping/knock
thats why if your ignition is to far retarted the EGT will climb and i have seen the manifold glow on some cars due to that
