Heres the deal. when I installed my turbo, I was not running a filter on my turbo, just a mesh screen, but only for a short while. I have a HKS SSQV. The sound of the blow off valve was fine, made the sound its supposed to make. I put a filter on the turbo soon after and now it makes a different sound once in a while. Instead of the regular straight whistle it makes, it sounds like the one on the supra in the fast and furious, where it makes a sputtering sound, only it doesnt always make this sound, once in a while it does just the regular whistle. Any ideas why its doin this?

any difference in boost? turbo lag? anything? (since the filter)

 

part throttle/lower boost?
seems fine to me.
they do that sometimes when not at full boost.

 

I started a post on this a while back...I think it might be archived now...I tried to do a search for it but said search was disabled..but if you want to try later search for wastegate flutter....turns out its not the wastegate...its actually the BOV...everyone seemed to agree that the BOV doesnt get a good vacuum source when it makes the fluttering sound..so make sure your vacuum line is good and secure then maybe try a new source

 

It has to do with load. I get two different sounds at 9psi and 14psi. Very low load mine will flutter, sometimes it doesn't just because I let off at a different amount of boost. Very strange but normal.
