What do you think of clutchmasters Stage 2?
Well my Exedy has a nice crack on the retrainer and the springs are all torn up so I need a new clutch for expo (actually need it sooner, car is on jack stands & tranny is on the floor). What do you all think of Clutchmasters? I am not going anywhere near exedy and I've not heard too many good things about ACT. Anybody running a Clutchmasters clutch disc and pressure plate?

I broke my assmasters stage 2 in a year and a half of track/road racing. I think it was broken probably after just about 6 months, but I kept on riding the ******.
It's a full face organic, yet it chatters worse than a metallic puck. Go figure.

You see that little number, 550??? That minus well be about 5500 to me right now cause I can't afford anything like that
Must have been install error Craig.
I like my ACT so far. Got 1000 miles on it and it feels much better than the Exedy ever did.

Craig, why not OEM?
I got mine from Len for less than half of that used Toda (don't have the receipt handy, but I think it was around $230 for clutch plate, PP, TOB, and pilot bearing).

I and numerous other of my friends have been using CM clutches for years, and we have not had a problem with any one of them. All stages, including stage 1 all the way up to the dual disc clutch from CM, we have used, and havnt had any problems with them. We do all different types of driving, from hard drag raceing to autoX/track events, the CM has held up for us.
They are faily cheap, i picked up a CM stage 3 clutch for about $220 (everything included, all brand new), then sold it, and bought a CM stage 4 for about $235 which has been sittting in the closet for over a year.
Maybe it was installer error for those who have CM and they have failed

Anybody have any luck running the stock ITR disc with the Excedy pressure plate?

I know you're strapped for cash. Who isn't? For the price though, I really like my Action clutch. It's less than all the other big brands. My only complaint is that all the engagement occurs at the top of the pedal, which might be slightly annoying if it's a daily driver. I got used to it quickly though.
I'm especially impressed with their metallic puck. It's got a buttery smooth engagement.

I run a CM stage 3, and am extremely happy with it. Engagement and feel is very close to stock. It is very civilized, but grabs and holds like a motherfokker. I only have maybe a dozen pulls on it at the strip, but in several months of street driving, it still performs very very well.
