Hi all. I just installed an AEM CAI on my ITR and I heard some whistle sound ("sis sis", like when finished your drink but you still sucking the straw) at around 3k rpm (not sure about high rpm, cause it is so loud up there ). Is this normal sucking air sound or I didn't install it correctly? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

 

It's normal, happens to me too.

I have had the same sound on both the AEM and my current Icebox.

It's caused by the air traveling through the throttle plate (disc?) under a certain angle. Just like a whistle.....

 

my header/cat makes a "SSSS" sound as well. some guy asked me...

him-"DUDE you got a TURBO in there??"
me-"uh.. no. just bolt ons"


edit- i guess when i install my icebox, i can look forward to a sequential blow off valve. blingity bling bling blang

My comptech icebox also makes the whistle, but its not as loud as an AEM intake.

 

when I had mine , mine made a whistle . I sold it because I thought it was broken. JK

I have the J's intake and it makes the same sound.

 

I always thought it sounded like someone hitting a pipe with the lid on.

Completely normal, don't worry.

 

yup normal.......does it on my dc sports dac intake also.

 

Its normal, just the air being sucked in.
