Default Question about boost

I am still trying to decide between a Greddy kit, and a custom t3/t4 kit for my 99si. Everyone says more power with the latter, but if I'm boosting 10psi with a GReddy turbo, and 10psi with a Drag kit, isn't it the same, 10psi = 10psi or am I missing something. Using a boost controller you can crank up the boost...right. Forgive me if I sound stupid or if I'm missing something.

The amount of boost doesnt just determine the power that you would put out...the size of the turbo, motor, intercooler, piping, downpipe, manifold.....everything effects the amount of power the motor would produce.... i honestly think you would make more power with the Drag kit.

10psi = 10psi
yes 10psi does = 10psi, but the hp #'s will be different with a different turbo.

Correct. I used to think that a turbo pushing 10psi is the same as any other turbo pushing 10psi but it's not.

Me personally, I wouldn't go with the DRAG, maybe Revhard or build a custom turbo kit myself.

I see now, if you have a two inch pipe that has 10psi of air being forced through it you won't get the volumn of airflow of a ten inch pipe that 10psi flowing through it. Just a hypothetical example. Right?

Please do a search this topic has been covered millions of times. There is a difference between 10psi from a t3 (say .42 trim .48 ar) and a t3t40E (.57 trim .63 ar). the larger turbo will make more power because it will flow more volume and heat up the charge air more. colder the boost the more dense (volume) the more volume ( + more fuel) equals more power...
the more air and fuel you can burn the more power you will make....the larger turbo will flow more then a small turbo....
