EX-to-DX Cluster (mph/rpm)
the cluster on my 96 DX does not show rpm/red line.
can i get a new cluster off a civic EX and install it in to a DX model?
will i be needing any additional wires to make the rpm's functional?

how much should this cost? Cuz I need to do this too. I don't know why a damn manual car doesn't have a tach! Even my moms Civic LX has one, and that's an automatic!
What's the DX's redline on the stock engine? because obviously it's not the 7200 RPM of the EX. I have a 94 DX Coupe BTW

can you swap out the tach and the fuel and heat gauge from a ex and put them in a dx cluster??? or would it just be easier to swap the miles

The gauges cant be swapped into a DX housing (the part that holds the gauges) you must use an EX one. You can use your stock speedo to keep your miles correct, so just find an EX(or other civic cluster w/ tach) and swap over your speedo...where could you find one cheap....wait a second! lol, I have one for sale. It is a 00 Civic EX cluster that comes complete with everything that you need to swap out your DX to an EX except for the fuel/temp gauges which can be purchased from a junk yard for a few $. Id let it go for $20 shipped. It will include the tach and a speedo, the gauge bezel, & the clear plastic cover. Rick

Do i need to buy a new DX speedometer and add rpm cluster off EX model instead??? Why will the EX model speedometer not work on DX model???
You can only swap the speedometers between the two clusters. That is the only part of the cluster that will intergrate. ie: You cannot put the DX fuel gauge into an EX cluster and vice versa.
so i buy a new DX speedometer and substitute clusters off EX model??
some1 post pics of two speedometers so i know what the hell i am doing prior to me wasting $50 on the new speedo at the junkyard. I was suppose to get today EX model speedo, but now change of plans since it'll not work if i understand it correctly.

i don't mean to confuse any1 in what i am tryn to do. I figured i throw away the old DX model speedo and throw in a new EX model speedo without touching the clusters...I thought it could be a direct swap with a few wires to play around in order to get the rpm's work on DX model...shitttt, can i do this and will it be all functional Or NOT

The speedometer can be swapped between clusters. The tach wont plug into the DX cluster though. If you need a new speedo let me know, I have 2 spares. Thanks! Rick
