Default Question about the DX models...

I know this may be stupid, but I am preparing to purchase a 99 DX coupe. Now, it is a manual transmision and one thing I noticed is that there is no tachometer in the gauge cluster, hence no way to tell what RPMs I am reving to. Is there anyway to install maybe an aftermarket tachometer? Or maybe install a gauge cluster from an LX? Will this work? I would really like to be able to read my RPMs... any help is apriciated. Thanks.

Yes, you can wire up and mount an aftermarket tachometer, or just swap over an LX or EX cluster with a tach in it (which most people do) The cluster is plug and play, whereas the tach requires mounting.

Yup that's what I did in my 99 DX. I took an EX cluster and swapped it in. I also swapped the spedometer and odometer pieces from each cluster so I retained my mileage.

I installed a 2 5/8" autometer tach in a single pillar cup about 4 years ago when I bought the car. I like it.
