My Hondata and Techedge Install......56k Beware
I thought I would share my Hondata Install with everyone on this board. At the same time, I also installed the Techedge v1.0 Wideband O2 system and sensor to work with the Hondata. I have to say, I have done a ton of reading on this board about Hondata install so most of this install success is because of the help of all of you.
Now here are some pictures:
Here is a view of the interface box install underneath the glove box by the vent fan. I didn't want to hack up my glove box nor did I want to take anything out of it because I cram a bunch of CD's and stuff in there. You can't see the interface box unless you stick your head under the glove box a little. However, you cans till see the interface box light plain as day. The LED are pretty bright on the interface box.
Another shot:
Here is a shot from the other side under the dash.
If you didn't notice, I circled in this picture my quick remove Wideband Setup idea. I used 2 pairs of Deans connectors to connect to the power on the ECU and for the Wideband Signal and ground. These connectors have been around for years in the Radio Control Car buisness (Which I race semi-professionally) so this was an easy way to allow me to quickly remove the Wideband O2 box and display when I was done tuning. Best part, two pairs of these plugs is <$4!!
Quick ECU Shot:
Here is a shot with the Romulator hooked up (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE ROMULATOR BY THE WAY!!!!)
Here is a full dash shot:
Now, this was my idea and it works like a charm. Instead of using the ugly red interface button, I wanted to do something different and factory looking. So, I found a JDM EG Fog Light Switch on ebay for like $25 and bought it. My buddy who helped me install (who is a professional audio installer) made this switch into a mometary switch like Hondata requires. Walla. Factory looking hondata reset button. It is circled in red.
Here is just a picture of the car since I know some of you would like to see what it looks like.
I am in the process of putting together my built motor (finally). Once built and installed, I will run N/A for about a 1000 miles then put my custom turbo stuff on that I have been collecting for about 6 or 7 months.
Just thought I would share some of my ideas and for people who like pictures, this post was for you. Let me know your comments and if you have questions, please ask away. Oh, the total time from start of the first wire splice to startup was just less than 2 hours and 20 minutes. Only 1 problem and it was my fault plugging the damn romulator in backwards!!!
I will post more pics, dyno sheet, etc when the car is finished. Hopefully by end of summer. New baby on the way soon so that take precedence.
Peace,

I wish Hondata would have wrote how to plug the thing in on the website. I know alot of people would not review the Transonic emulator install pics they have.
BTW for poeple: The red stripe goes toward the ECU plugs.

It was 70 degrees 2 days ago when I took the pictures. It is now 30 and snowing. Only in the midwest can you have 70 degrees and snow all in the same week forecast.
Only thing I have a problem with is I think I need to install a 1k diode on the ground O2 wire. I am getting a check engine light for the O2. Am I right?
Oh and doodoo, I used on of your posts for the install. Thanks!!!

I love it when a plan comes together...
I spoke too soon in my other post about no check light by just clicking off the O2 heater. Mine comes on if I get on the throttle pretty good. But it doesn't affect driving, just an annoying light.
Its wierd how the TE interacts with RomEditor. Its like the voltage is shows the Lambda more precise in RE and Logger. I think a more accurate conversion table will give better values. Just a thought....
