I was driving home from work and I went to make a turn from a complete stop pretty quickly and i moved about 2 feet and then I heard a little pop and then the motor would just rev up.
I tryed putting it into gear but move but the car wount move anywhere. I tryed every gear and none of them worked!!!
I also tryed putting it into 1st gear without stepping on the clutch and it went right into first gear.
Is this my clutch or my axles or even my tranny?!?!?!?!
My clutch setup is an Clutch-net pressure plate with an ACT Street strip clutch in a 00 si tranny with driveshaft shop stage 1 axles.
Also BTW when i would be reving the motor up in different gears the speedometer would move also but the car wouldnt?!?!
Please help!
TIA

It's 100% NOT your axles. If this were an older car, I'd say you bound up or threw a pin from your shift linkage as this is exactly what happened to my 79 vette three weeks ago. A solitary "pop" is usually indicative of something inside the tranny coming loose or unaligning itself.
Did you put your clutch/flywheel/Pplate together or did professionals? It's possible that your throwout bearing slipped or something (causing the clutch to not engage ever, thus rendering your car crippled). You're gunna want to check your tranny:
1.) axles probably aren't the culprit, but check to see if they slipped their splines at the tranny.
2.) clutch alignment
3.) bearings
4.) any loose crap in your transfer case/bell housing
Good luck
EDIT: check your shift linkage while you're under there

Wow, that sounds like a pretty crazy problem you got there. Is the car still on when you put it in and out of gear without the clutch? On slight possibility is it could be your differential. You said it happened on a turn and the speedometer still rises while in gear. So you are in a gear so the diff is spinning causing the speed sensor to spin, so maybe you tore up the spider gears. It might be your axles, but I highly doubt it like Acchidictus said. Does it grind going into gears, if so might be a cracked pressure plate or some broken fingers. Good luck.

there is no grinding when i put it in gear and when i put it in gear without the clutch the car was running.
If I put the car into gear and let go of the clutch the car wont stall
ALSO Id dont know if you would call it profesionals but my favorite shop(cough bullshitcough) install my clutch and my axles and my pressure plate as long as the throw out bearing

....or maybe it's cause you assembled your motor in the basement?

they can BREAK INSIDE THE JOINT and look totally normal on the outside
if your speedo move (when it is gear) and your does not than it is a axle(s) that poped out or broke

Well it looks like it broke inside the boot or maybe those clamps that are on the axles are no good
I have to take the axle out now and take the boot off and see what is wrong under the boot
Thank you everyone for your help
-Brian
PS:I might have something to do with the motor being built in a basement

Leave the car off and trying putting it in every gear without the clutch. If it feels the same as it did before the "big bang" then your tranny should be fine. Follow your old foot steps. Was there any leaking fluid? If there wasn't then you didn't blow your diff. If you can put it in gear and rev the motor with the clutch engaged and the car doesn't move but the speedo does, that is usually a broken axle. However I can not explain how it goes into 1st while the car is running and the clutch is not depressed other than maybe the throwout bearing is still engaged on the PP and the clutch is fully engaged and the axle broke in the process? That would be some ****. If I was you I would get a little more mechanically inclined. No offense. ;]
Hehe, didn't notice that you posted before me Kenny..ah remember that long night, when we did my swap?
