Tires for 15x7
I got 3 choices
205/50 s03's - i've had them on 15x6.5 for 28-29K miles and on 15x7 after that, theres an improvement, but still a bit sloppy.
195/55 re010 - i liked them on 15x6 - would it be too narrow for 15x7? (considering they're on sale from tirerack.)
205/50 re010 - anyone tried these?

205/50 RE-010's were specifically designed for the NSX, not sure which years. They are not recommended for the ITR.
Azenis? Kumho MX? Both are 205/50/15. Kumho MX's are supposedly excellent tires.

I put a set os S03s on my Audi and the steering response and feed back is awesome!! Way better than the Azenis, though ultimate grip is lower. But since you said they are for the street, SO3s are the way to go!!!

The Audi wheels are 17x7.5, tires 225/45. The tire characteristics should be very similiar for your selection. If you were putting the 205s on a 6 inch wheel, you would lose response, but since you mentioned the 7in it should be great.

thanks, i might try re010 again, i might also try 205/50 re010, i know they're nsx front specific, since all re0*** tires are factory specific tire. they offer left and right in re010 for nsx fronts, maybe theres an advantage to that.. anyone knows what width 15" nsx wheels are?

Do NOT get the RE010 in 205/50. They were specificaly made for the NSX front and have built in toe or camber. They will handle like crap if you put them on an R. IF you want the RE010s, stick with the stock size or you will be very disappointed.

Hopefully the extra added info and another recommendation to not try these tires will convince you that they are not a good idea.
SO-3's. Can't beat them for a street tire IMO. Awesome response due to the super stiff sidewalls. Excellent grip in the dry and unbelieable traction in the wet.
< can brake faster in a downpour than friends vette can in the dry.

Yeah. Those stiff sidewalls really show up in the bacon when you're trying to pick up the wheel.
195/50R-15 S-03 vs my 205/50R-15 Toyo FZ4 on stock 15" rims....S-03 is the heavy weight champ hands down.

For streets, I say go with Dunlop SP5000. I drove through many blizzard with them no problem and offers reasonable grip...although I never took it to the limits. But on the autocross, with proper inflations, they feel almost the same as the RE010s.
--- I am also a ex-S03 user, they aren't so great in wet, so they are off my list for all-season streetable tires.

That's what I tried to get across in my earlier post.

btw.. found another tire while browsing tirerack, http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...=Potenza+RE040 , for $109, v-rated - from mazda protege, might not be the best choice, just letting everyone know about it.
i see, didn't know about the camber/toe.. maybe thats why tirerack lists different thread depth on 205/50.
You can read more about them here.
For the ITR, get the stock 195/55-15 size RE010. They're great tires, and now they're available at a great price, too!
