Funny smell from my car.
I got an oil change about a week and a half ago. I used redline oil, like my last oil change. Ever since I got the oil change, theres this like semi burning smell coming from my engine bay...kind of like worked engine almost. The smell has progressively been getting less noticable. Now it only happens when I drive my car a lil hard and when i turn on the heat. I checked out the oil level, which was fine. There is no leaks from the filter. I'm thinking it can be the old oil from last time that leaks onto my exhaust which gets burnt up. Has this happened to anyone or do any of you guys have any suggestions as to what it can be? I didn't really care for the first few days but the smell is persistant so I'm gettin worried
you have a 5th gen right? If so, there's like no way to not get atleast a little oil on the down pipe when changing the filter... you're most likely just burning off the stuff left behind
do you know what burning oil smells like? if you dont, poor alittle dab on your header.... im thinking, next to a burnt clutch, burning oil is stinky **** too
