Default Big bar in the way, in the CRX. How to route the downpipe?

There is a big bar, the radiator sits on top of it. And also, it looks like the transmission is bolted to this bar. The bar is kinda in the way and leaves very little room to route a 3 inch downpipe.

How do you guys go about routing the downpipe past this bar?

You can beat it up, cut it up a little, or best solution: go to http://www.jimfab.com and buy their crossmember.

My friend went turbo on his CRX and had to run open downpipe all the time... You can fit a 3" downpipe but you'll need the Place Racing front cross member...

i have the place racing front x-member too. it's an ok piece, but doesnt have the adjustability of the Jimfab piece. Fits well witha 92-95 civic half-radiator (which you'll most likely need, depending on your turbo size). just b careful with a dropped car, it likes to scrape alot

I had a shop 'sneak' a 2.5" its not pretty. but it works and its possible. I would reccomend getting a cross-member upgrade.

what about having the piping machine crushed right where it goes between the crossmember and block/ turbo? Would that work?

Do you mean crush the DP? Yeah, you could probably make it fit that way, but it would put a huge bottle-neck in your exhaust system. A much more viable and logical option would be to just get an aftermarket X-member.

I had a 2.5" DP on my turbo setup. Fit past the crossmember with hasport mounts without problems.

Jim Fab bars would be a good solution
