How to change pedal bracket?!
I searched for this problem, but apparently not too many have it.
A few days ago, i was driving normally.. Clutch pedal pressure is hard as usual (heavy duty clutch) all the sudden, BAM the clutch pedal rushes to the floor with no resistance..
I checked and replace the clutch cable.. not the problem.
I look under the dash and i find that one of the welds broke on the Clutch bracket. Damnit..
So my question for you guys, what should i do?
Ive been told its a hard job to do, and time isnt on my side..
The pedal is tweaked to the side, and the clutch bracket needs to be replaced. how do i do this? do i need to replace the whole pedal assembly? thanks

well you could reweld that weld that broke but in my opinion that isnt the best choice. the EXACT same thing happen to me, because of my clutch setup. i went to honda and ordered a new pedal bracket. there are between 6 and 8 bolts that hold the bracket to the firewall. some are a little hard to get to, but just keep looking. take off all the pedals and any other restrictions(cant remeber if there are any other bolts/things in the way). then you gotta fight with it a little to get it out, it takes some pulling and tweaking but it'll come out. put the new one in and replacee all the bolts and pedals. some say its easier to do if you drop the steering column, but i decided to not do this and just did it with the steering column in the way. i dont remember EXACTLY how long it took but it gets pretty cramped up there behind the dash. my friends and i traded off and each did a little here and there. honestly, if you have a couple people to help out and you dont mind climbing up there it wont take too long. i'll admit it IS a pain in the *** but its not impossible.
good luck.
good luck.
I bought the whole pedal assembly from a local parts store... I started working on it earlier today.. So far ive dropped the steering column, and i loosened most of the bolts.. This is harder than i thought it would be.. what a pain in the ***. it seems as if some bolts are impossible to get to..
anyone have any more insight on this? thanks

Oh another thing that might help is to pull out the drivers seat for more room to lay down under there. I am sure there are easier ways but this way worked for me when it comes down to removing the least amount of stuff.
I honestly could not remove the pedal assembly and all of the bolts, without dropping the steering column and removing the dash.

God, removing that assembly is such a pain in the ***. Remember, you have to take off some of the heater tubing that runs under the dash, otherwise the assembly will hit it as you try and pull it out.
I was just about to give up, i got all 6 bolts out (pain in the ***).. and the **** still would NOT budge... I have already dropped my steering column. Im pretty sure the only thing holding it back is that damn heater tubing under the dash, because it comes off a little bit. this is turning out to be harder than i thought and im pretty sure ive removed all the neccessary bolts.
i just dropped out my old auto assembly and put in my 5 speed one,
waiting to drop motor to do rest of conversion. ne way, there are the 6 ( i think) nuts on the firewall, then up behind that heating pipe is the last bolt of the top connected to the dash. if you lay down in the foot well with the seat out, the bolt is directly above your head. use a 1 ft. extension and rip the air piping out of the way. i did or else u can't get the assembly out and back in. BTW IMO u have to drop the column to get the pedal assembly out, and take out the cotter pin on the gas pedal to remove it, makes it a lot easier. any other ?'s let me know. peace.

I found that if I pulled the brake booster towards the front of the car it helped give me enough room to get the assembly out.
