Even though he may do it for free it may cost you money down the road, thousands and thousands(well maybe not that much, but a lot of money) has been invested by the companies that manufacture mount kits because they give the engine it's perfect alignment. If your friend knows honda's really well, then go for it, maybe it'll work out, but I'd rather stick with the mount kits simply for the peace of mind. They're gueranteed so I'll be happy to pay hasport 350 for them...
I speak from experience, DONT WELD YOUR MOUNTS IN THE B SERIES POSITION. Get a bolt in kit, it saves a ton of headaches down the road and is well worth the money. If you are that against buying a bolt in kit the passenger side motor mount is moved up about 3 inches and the rear mount is moved to the bolt hole position on the driver side.

YHa man the d16a6 apparently cant handle 350 HP for like a month of hardcore driving.
But ya ill just get a mount kit....

yea considering if you weld the mounts you won't be able to go back to d-series in the future if you wanted to sell your whip without the b-series motor or some ****. HAsport mounts are ******* great. I had them myself. Good luck...
